Privacy Policy - Carrom Isles
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Some ads are optional videos you can choose to watch for a bonus (a hint, one more strike, or skipping a board after three tries); a full-screen ad may appear between boards (never during play).
- To show ads, Google AdMob collects device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), approximate location from your IP address, ad interaction data and diagnostics of its own. See section 5.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent (Google's consent form) before personalised ads, and you can change your choice in the game's Settings > Ad privacy.
- There is one optional purchase, Remove Ads, paid through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. See section 6.
- Owais Studios itself does not collect, store on a server or sell your personal data. There is no account or sign-in and no analytics of our own. Your progress is saved on your own device (and, if you use Android backup, in your own Google account backup).
1. Who we are
Carrom Isles is a calm carrom trick-shot puzzle game made by Owais Studios, a small independent developer. This policy explains what happens to information when you play the game.
2. Information we (Owais Studios) collect
We do not collect any personal information ourselves. The game does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos or any other personal data, and it does not send your game data to us. The only data that leaves your device is the data the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) needs to show ads (section 5), the purchase handled by Google Play if you buy Remove Ads (section 6), and the optional Android backup (section 3).
3. Data stored on your device
To remember your progress, the game saves a small file on your device (save.json, with a backup copy): the boards you solved or skipped, your stars and trick badges, the board you are on, your settings (sound, music, vibration, reduced motion), the picture quality that suits your phone, how many free hints you have, whether you own Remove Ads (with Google Play's purchase token), whether and when you visited our Facebook / Instagram pages from the game, and whether you have already seen the welcome hints or the rating question. We cannot see this file or access it. You can delete it at any time by clearing the app's storage or by uninstalling the game.
Android backup: if backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may copy this save file to your own Google account backup so that your progress comes back on a new phone. This is a feature of Android and your Google account; Owais Studios cannot access these backups. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.
4. Permissions
- Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): used only to load ads, Google's consent form and Google Play purchases. The game itself works fully offline; without internet simply no ads are shown.
- Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID): lets the Google Mobile Ads SDK read the Android Advertising ID. You can reset or delete this ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): lets the game offer the optional Remove Ads purchase through Google Play.
- Vibration (VIBRATE): a short, soft tap on each strike and win. You can turn vibration off in the game's Settings.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK and the Google Play Billing Library may add a few technical permissions of their own (for example to keep background work running briefly); they are not used by the game for anything else. The game does not ask for location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game uses Google AdMob, an advertising service of Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, to show ads:
- Rewarded ads are always optional: you tap a button that clearly offers a short video, to get a hint (a ghost line), one more strike, or to skip a board after three tries in a row. Nothing is lost if you do not watch.
- Interstitial (full-screen) ads may appear only between boards: never during your first 15 solved boards, never in the first minutes of a session, never after a missed board or during or right after a slow-motion replay, and at most once every 4.5 minutes. If you buy Remove Ads, they are never shown.
To deliver, measure and (with your consent where required) personalise ads, and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and sends to Google: device identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID (or an app set ID), your IP address (used to estimate a coarse location), device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version), information about the ads you see and tap, and crash and performance diagnostics of the SDK. This data is sent encrypted. Google acts as an independent controller of this data under its own policies. Owais Studios does not receive this data except as aggregated, anonymous reports (for example the number of ads shown and earnings).
Learn more: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, How Google uses advertising data, AdMob and user privacy, and the Google Privacy Policy.
Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): when you start the game, Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform, a certified consent management platform under the IAB TCF) is shown where the law requires it. You can agree or refuse personalised ads. If you refuse, or if no choice could be recorded, only non-personalised or limited ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the game's Settings > Ad privacy (this row appears where the law requires it).
US state privacy laws: Owais Studios does not sell personal information for money. Where applicable, Google's restricted data processing and your device's advertising settings let you limit personalised ads.
6. The Remove Ads purchase (Google Play)
Remove Ads is a single, optional, one-time purchase. It turns off the full-screen ads for good and gives 3 free hints every day; optional reward videos stay available if you want them. The purchase is made in Google Play's own payment screen: Google processes the payment and keeps your purchase history under the Google Payments Privacy Notice and the Google Privacy Policy. The game receives from Google Play only whether you own Remove Ads (with Google's purchase token, used to confirm the purchase) and keeps that on your device; it is checked again with Google Play when the game starts so the purchase comes back after reinstalling. Owais Studios never sees your name, card or payment details and has no server that stores purchases.
7. Links to other apps and websites
The game has a few buttons that open other places: More Games and the rating question open our games' pages in Google Play, and Visit us opens the Owais Studios pages on Facebook or Instagram in your browser or in those apps. The game does not send any data to these places itself; what they collect when you visit them is covered by their own privacy policies (Google, Meta). The game only notes on your device that you came back from a visit, to give the small thank-you of free hints once per page. This privacy policy is published on owaisfirpo.github.io, which is hosted by GitHub Pages; what GitHub may log when you visit a website is covered by GitHub's own privacy statement.
8. Children
Carrom Isles is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. Ad requests are marked as not child-directed and ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences (maximum ad content rating "G"). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using the game, please contact us.
9. Security and data retention
Your save file stays on your device (and in your own Android backup, if you use it) and is protected by the normal security of your Android device. Data collected by Google AdMob and Google Play is transmitted encrypted and kept by Google according to its own retention policies. Owais Studios keeps no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. You can delete the game's local data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the game, and you can reset your Advertising ID in your phone's settings.
10. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game handles data in a different way (for example online leaderboards with Google Play Games), we will update this policy before that version is released and change the effective date above. The newest version of this policy will always be available at this address.
11. Contact
